The Contemporary World
The object of this course is to help the student be aware of contemporary problems and issues, to have some understanding of the times in which we live, and to apply the principles derived from Scripture to varying situations. It will include:

Principles of Biblical Ethics

Introductory questions, creations ordinances, morals for Israel, Christ’s ethical teaching, morals for the Church, the individual conscience, the local church and ethics, moral witness in the world, alternative ethical systems, facing particular problems.

Contemporary Issues

 

Lectures by guest speakers are arranged to deal with current areas of ethical concern such as industrial relations, medical ethics, education, child abuse, crime and punishment, race relations, social services, war and violence, politics and liberation theology.

Apologetics

 

Some aspects of this subject are dealt with in other parts of the course. The main concern is to expose the futility of the teaching of various cults, humanistic ideologies and world religions.
